Thank you for telling us about the RAF. We have learned quite a lot recently about the activities of pilots during WW2 at Dunkirk, The Battle of Britain and in the desert. There is also a fascinating history of the role played by biplanes during WW1 (The Royal Flying Corps) especially in collecting aerial information to help construct maps that informed military strategy. Given how dangerous the early planes were, these pilots were also incredibly brave.

In the Summer I went to the Battle of Britain memorial flight museum in Tattershall, Lincolnshire. It was really interesting and the Lancaster was enormous!
