Shakespeare Week – The Tempest is free!

Today, as part of Shakespeare Week, we found a suitable spot where we set ‘The Tempest’ free.  We read the book this week and found out why Prospero conjures up a storm at the start of the play. We also found out about the Shakespearean word ‘cozen’ meaning to trick or cheat. Lots of Shakespeare’s plays involve a trick being played on someone and The Tempest also has some tricks in it… We especially enjoyed seeing where there were similarities in the plot of The Tempest and Twelfth Night which we read (and watched) earlier this year.

The quote in our ‘tweet’ is from the play and is sung by Ariel. He is describing what he will do when he is set free..

If you find the book, read it and then pass it on by hiding it in a new place and tweeting your clue using the  hashtag #ShakespeareWeek. We’ll keep looking out for our book to see how far it travels.
