Wire sculptures
As part of our artwork on movement, we tried to produce sculptures showing movement. This was a tricky challenge as the wire was not easy to control. We are now thinking about how to display our work to get the full effect of the work.

Ice dyeing
We had a go at ice dyeing for the first time last week. We had wanted to try it when we were working on Shackleton but ran out of time. This week, we finally got the chance. The dye powder was sprinkled over the ice and slowly absorbed into the cloth. All of us were surprised by the fact that it took all day for the ice to melt.
We were pretty impressed with the results and would definitely try it again.

Beowulf
As part of our work on the Vikings this term. we have been reading Beowulf and discovering the story of his battle with Grendel. We have been writing our own versions of the story including some terrifying descriptions of Grendel and manner in which he met his death…
